ISABEL AGUILERA
Only two Spanish women have the privilege of featuring in the 50 most influential women on the planet, according to Fortune magazine; one of them is Isabel Aguilera, Google Spain CEO. A native of Seville, Isabel has a degree in architecture and a Masters in Commercial Management and Marketing from the Instituto de Empresa and is a tireless worker of whom The Wall Street Journal, one of the most important economic newspapers in the world, included in the 30 most powerful companies in Europe in 2001.
When she joined the IT company Dell Computer, it became the second company in its sector with the largest business volume due to its incredible results in Spain. For the five and a half years in which she remained at the forefront of the Dell Computer Españas team, the company grew an astounding 223 per cent and escalated its position in the Spanish ranking of computer sales, until it rose to the number one spot in the first trimester of 2002.
Since 2002 until December 2005, this dynamic woman assisted to every last detail of the 237 hotels and more than 34,000 rooms that NH owns in 18 countries: From the elegant uniforms designed by Adolfo Domínguez the employees are seen in, the exquisite cuisine of Ferran Adrià that can be tasted in the restaurants, to the fragrances of Jesús del Pozo that perfume the bathrooms.
Now, many are starting to understand why this management enthusiast abandoned her privileged position at Dell Computer in order to manage the expansion of a group that has an income of more than 900 million per year.
Since March 2006, se has become CEO of the worldwide acclaimed internet company Google Iberia.
