Futurist Amy Webb is a journalists, author and professor of strategic foresight at the NYU Stern School of Business. Expert in big data and in analyzing and predicting trends, Webb has founded and currently directs Future Today Institute, a center designing quantitative and qualitative methodologies to identify, analyze and apply indicators of disruptive changes: these protocols allow business, associations and institutions to anticipate themselves to complex ecosystems in continuous evolution.

The results of her research, at the intersection of business, technology and society, is used by Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies, relevant non profits, universities and start-ups around the world.

In her conferences and encounters, Webb explains, with an incisive, accessible, yet humorous style, the scientific method she uses to articulate solid future foresights in a 5 to 20 years future. Webb pretends to deeply understand and foresee the big changes affecting at all levels, applying big data and with a strong focus on tech and Artificial Intelligence.

Webb has published top seller books, translated into 19 languages, such as “Data: A love Story” (2013); “The Signals are Taking: Why Today´s Fringe is Tomorrow Mainstream” (2016) and “The Big Nine: How the Tech Titans and Their Thinking Machines Could Wrap Humanity” (2019). “Signals” is included in the bibliography of the major courses on strategic foresight of universities around the globe. It won a 2017 Gold Axium Medal and Amazon Best Book and was one of the best business books of the year, according to Washington Post. Key media such as The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, New York Times, Fast Company or MIT Sloan Management Review have featured Webb´s forecasting methodology, who has also contributed to outlets such as Wired or CNN.

Amy Webb was named to the Thinkers50 Radar list of the 30 management thinkers most likely to shape the future of how organizations are managed and led and was won the prestigious 2017 Thinkers50 RADAR Award.

She has been a lecturer at international universities, including Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris, Temple University, Tokyo University and National University of Kyiv.
Webb is a fellow of U.S.-Japan Leadership Program and a Foresight Fellow in the U.S. Government Accountability Office Center for Strategic Foresight; Visiting Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, at Oxford University and Delegate on the former U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission, where she worked on the future of technology, media and international diplomacy. She is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Her TED Talk, “Data, A Love Story”, about the possibility of finding love applying algorithms, has become viral, translated into 32 languages and with almost 8 million visualizations.

Webb, who plays the clarinet and Webb and earned the rank of ‘shodan’ in Aikido, graduated in Political Science, Economy and Game Theory (Indiana University) and holds a M.S. from the Columbia University Gradu
