Darril Willburn is an expert at applying the Lean Methodology to business development. In his more than 24 years of experience, he has led the development and implementation of some of the most important leadership programs at Toyota North America.
Throughout his career with the Japanese company, Darril studied the Toyota production system at OMDD, Toyota's internal Sensei group. He also developed and implemented the Toyota Way 2001 at Toyota's largest manufacturing facility in North America, and worked with the Toyota Institute in Japan to implement the Toyota Business Practice (TBP), leading the global pilot project for this program.
Darril is currently a partner of Honsa and Niwaki companies and is also the author of the book "Toyota by Toyota: Reflections from the Inside Leaders on the Techniques that Revolutionized the Industry", a story that highlights the Lean Methodology, explaining its main techniques and principles. In his book, Darril explains through global experiences how these principles were applied in the various divisions of the automobile company, from production through to management.
Currently at Honsha, Darril has had the opportunity to work with more than 100 companies in countries such as the United States, Brazil, Indonesia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Lithuania, amongst others.
As a speaker, he highlights the transformative effects of applying Lean Principles in companies. Darril is very active in this field, and regularly gives conferences on Lean Principles around the world, including the Abu Dhabi Talent Conference, the Washington State Government Lean Seminar, the Lithuanian Prime Ministers Lean Conference or the ISM University of Management and Economics in Lithuania.
