Emilio Moraleda is one of the most internationally successful Spanish executives and one of Spain’s pharmaceutical industry leaders. His leadership style, based on talent management, planning and proper coordination of high-performance teams, has led him to have an extraordinary career.
Since 2010 he has been advising and coaching top executives and entrepreneurs in order to improve performance and add value to their companies, as well as offering guidance, views and high-level support in relation to strategy and business leadership. He is also CEO of the company Talento Farmacéutico, which provides innovative training in the pharmaceutical area.
He is considered to be the key figure behind the development of the major pharmaceutical company Pfizer in Spain. He worked for the multinational for 23 years (1986-2009) holding various senior positions. He was President and Managing Director in Spain for ten years, served on Pfizer Europe’s Executive Committee and was President of the Pfizer Foundation.
During his time as President of the pharmaceutical industry trade association Farmaindustria (2004-2006) the new Medicines Act was passed. He was also Vice-President of the association (2006-2008) and a member of the board and the Governing Council.
His executive skills are evidenced by the fact that he was able to exceed the business targets of Pfizer’s Spanish subsidiary for fourteen years. The business journal Actualidad Económica named Pfizer ‘Most Admired Pharmaceutical Company in Spain’ in 1999 and 2000, during which time Emilio Moraleda was President and Managing Director.
In 2014 he published the book "Los retos del directivo actual" (Challenges Faced by Today’s Executives), which brings together what he learned in the business world and is presented as a manual for executives. The book sets out fundamental ideas, such as adopting values and commitment, placing a focus on performance, trust, being demanding and providing rewards.
