Gary A. Bolles is an internationally-recognized expert on understanding and managing disruption. He is Chair for the Future of Work for Singularity University and partner in the boutique consulting agency Charrette LLC, positions in which he shares his knowledge and expertise on disruption to help business and society manage change. In the midst of the deep digital transition we are experiencing, Bolles believes it is needed to develop a shared understanding of the dynamics of disruptive change and establish effective strategies, as well as to ensure that everyone has access to meaningful work and lifelong learning opportunities.

On a business level, Bolles helps his clients at Charrette LLC to identify and understand trends affecting organizations and markets, a skill he develops through strategic conferences, innovation consulting, strategy design charrettes, and collaborative initiatives. These objectives are now fulfilled under Charrette’s Fulcrum project. Some of his initiatives were: SoCap, socialcapitalmarkets.net, the premier conference for social entrepreneurs and investors that today has 3,500 attendees; DGREE.org, The Future of Higher Education; Silicon Valley Meets the UN; and Closing The Gap: Strategies for Economic Opportunity. Bolles was also co-founder of the US Broadband Coalition.

Furthermore, Gary A. Bolles co-founded eParachute.com, a site helping job-hunters & career changers that offers online and in-person learning programs. As a matter of fact, Bolles is a trained expert on the world’s most effective methods for helping job-hunters and career changers, some of which can be found in his bestseller “What Color Is Your Parachute?”.

Bolles is the former editorial director for six technology publications, including Interactive Week, Yahoo! Internet Life, and Network Computing, with a deep background on networking and telecommunications. He is a former consulting producer for clients such as Google, Nokia, Yahoo, London Business School, and National Australia Bank. He is the former Chief Operating Officer for Evolve Software, the former VP Marketing for Network Products Corporation, and has advised dozens of startups. He has been involved in strategic innovation projects with clients such as Intel, Yahoo, Nokia, Google, Silicon Valley Bank, Jhpiego, and the United Nations.
