Isabel Garro is a recognized expert in sustainable development. Her extensive experience in this field has led her to co-lead Spain's commitments in this area, from the front line of the main competent bodies, as Special Advisor to the High Commissioner for Agenda 2030 in the Presidency of the Spanish Government, or as Director General of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact for 14 years.
Through her facet as a speaker, Isabel Garro examines the main challenges and strategies posed by the objectives of Agenda 2030, addressing in all their complexity the key elements of sustainable development, in addition to satellite themes such as sustainable investments and impact investments, competitive social transformation, sustainable innovation, intra-enterprise with stakeholders, stakeholder management, management of public-private partnerships and alliances, culture, ethics, purpose and CSR.
As one of the great specialists on the national scene in Agenda 2030, Isabel has held top-level responsibilities as the Spanish representative in this field before the Council of the European Union. In addition, she has chaired the UN Global Compact Local Networks Advisory Group and has been a member of the Advisory Committee of Transparency International Spain and the Ethics Council of Auchan Spain.
Isabel Garro is currently a Founding Partner of 3a4b, a consulting firm specializing in business and sustainability, and Senior Executive Advisor on sustainable development at Planner Media. She is also an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at IE Business School.
Isabel Garro holds a double Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Brown University and IE Business School. Garro has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Comillas-ICADE (Madrid) and a degree in Executive Education in Strategic Management and Leadership from IESE Business School.
