Pranav Mistry, is an inventor and scientist specialized in new technologies, who currently serves as president of Think Tank Team and as director of research at Samsung Research America. Previously, he worked at the Media Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mistry is, in turn, the creator of SixthSense, an interface that can be worn and that increases the physical world around us with digital information and allows the natural use of hand gestures to interact with that information. Pranav's research at SixthSense has been awarded the Popular Science Invention Award. He was also recognized with the Technology Review TR35 from MIT that identified him as one of the 35 Leading Innovators in the World under 35 years.
On the other hand, in 2010, it was included in the Creativity 50 list of Creativity Magazine. Mistry has also been recognized as "one of the ten best inventors in the world of the moment" by Chris Anderson, editor-in-chief of Wired. Mistry has also been listed as one of the 15 most important scientists in Asia by Asia Scientific Magazine in 2011. GQ India defined Pranav as one of the most Powerful Indians of the Digital World.
Some of his inventions include Mouseless Pranav - an invisible computer mouse; Sparsh, a new way to copy and paste data between digital devices; Quickies, smart sticky notes that allow you to send reminders and messages; Blinkbot, a robot controlled by looking and flickering or a pen with which you can draw in 3D. His fields of research include augmented reality, ubiquitous computing, gesture interaction, AI, artificial vision, collective intelligence and robotics.
