Reaching the summit meant an end to the suffering, but above all, beginning to dream
The name of journalist, author and columnist Sebastián Álvaro is inscribed on the roll of great Spanish adventurers. As director and creator of the documentary series Al filo de lo imposible (On the Edge of the Impossible), which was aired by TVE (Spanish national state-owned television) from 1983 to 2008, he has transported audiences in their millions to the most inhospitable places on the planet with his teams of technicians and specialists, and has shown the general public high-risk sporting activities such as cave diving, sailing, hang-gliding, and of course, mountaineering.
For Sebastián Álvaro combining adventure with knowledge and reflection has always been essential. That is why his expeditions around the most far-flung corners of the earth are always accompanied by a clear commitment to conserving the environment and preserving local cultures.
