Shawn Achor is a psychologist, professor and research since the last 20 years at Harvard University. Founder of consultant firm Good Think Inc; co-founder of the Institute for Applied Positive Research, together with his wife, and CEO of the platform for transforming business Better Up.

He has conducted workshops and talks in more than 50 countries, has lectured in universities all across the world and has collaborated with numerous Fortune100 companies. Achor has presented his methodology to challenging and heterogenous audiences, including NBA, the White House or the Union of Swiss Banks UBS.

As a speaker, with charisma and sense of humor, Achor presents the keys to optimize the sense of meaning and maximize happiness, both in entrepreneurial scenarios and in the private sphere. His concern to create positive collaborative environments translates into a sense of success that has to do with how people connect and, while relating, learn and have results.

In his three best-selling books; “The Happiness Advantage: The Seven Principles of Positive Psychology” (2011), “Before Happiness: The Five Hidden Keys to Achieving Success” (2013) and “Big Potential: How Transforming the Pursuit of Success Raises Our Achievement” (2018), Achor links, directly proportionally, optimism and performance, based on scientific evidence and numerous case studies. He has also co-authored a children book together with his sister, Amy Blankson, “The Ripple´s Effect”, that introduces the key concepts of Positive Psychology in a language adapted to kids.

Media such as The New York Times, Forbes Magazine or BBC have featured his theories. Achor has published more than 35 articles in Harvard Business Review about the results of his field studies. The popular TV anchor Oprah Winfrey included Achor in her “Super Soul” 100 list of visionaries and influential leaders.

Achor received a BA from Harvard University and a MA in Christian and Buddhist Ethics from Harvard Divinity School. He is the winner of many distinguished teaching awards at Harvard University, a career he began as a freshman proctor and teaching assistant of Professor Tal Bel-Shahar in one of the most popular courses at the campus, “Happiness”.

Anchor´s TED Talk on “The happy secret to better work”, translated into 48 languages and with almost 21 million views online, is listed as one of the 25 most popular of the platform (currently, number 14º).
